Relativity

My fantasy: I always thought I will celebrate the end of 20s with a big bang, a big party and doing something wild and different to mark the end of 20s and a new beginning.. at least something atrociously different to bid goodbye to the 20s... after all it has been a long long time since i did anything atrocious, or anything really exciting for that matter..

The reality: I spent the day unpacking and cleaning in our new place.. totally un-exciting.. boring, dusty, dirty and grubby. Hubby was not able to take leave, so i was utterly miserable.

Still he tries. He actually came home early and we sneak out for a quick and wonderful dinner at the Halia in the Botanic Gardens.

And there is this gorgeous bouquet of flowers from this the really exquisite Fiore Dorato , and a very nice cake from my favorite patissier, The Patissier.. well, quite the usual Birthday stuff, but given the utterly lousy way I have spent the bulk of the birthday, well, these gestures seem spectacular..

Hence, I conclude that life is all about relativity.. If one has always had it good, then it gets tougher to scale the peak all the time.. but if one has been in the dumps, even the most minimal stuff seems like miracle..
